Welcome to the Department of Electrical Engineering, Government Polytechnic, Bhadrak. The Department of Electrical Engineering was established in the year 2017.It aims at producing qualified engineers in the areas of electrical machine, power electronics, control system, power system, and instrumentation. The field of Electrical and electronics is advancing at a very rapid pace. Power electronics has taken the center stage in every area be it power systems, control systems, power quality, etc. The department is well equipped with a group of highly qualified and dynamic teachers. It boasts of laboratory facility to be one of the best in the state. The students are encouraged and motivated to take up challenging projects. Summer training, industrial visit and projects are carefully planned for the students to remain updated with the technology trend. Seminars and short courses are regularly organized to update the students with the latest in the education and industry trends.

Electrical engineering offers programs in both electrical and electronics domain and provides wide range of fundamental scientific knowledge. The well qualified and experienced faculties have taken up the dare developing competent electrical engineers capable of facing the emerging challenges. Keeping in line with fast changing technologies, this department comes up with well equipped laboratories for developing the practical knowledge they need and follows outcome based education curriculum. To develop entrepreneur skills and to equip students with innovation and creativity, Electrical engineering department has first taken priority in imparting a friendly learning environment.

Mission


1. To provide comprehensive technical knowledge through structural program and quality in teaching-learning process.
2. To fill the gap between industry and Academia by well-equipped modern laboratories, Seminars of Industry person, various Workshop and industry visits.
3. To give guidance and counselling to students for growth of Social ethics.

PEO1: To be a good electrical engineer with fundamental knowledge.
PEO2: To get employment in public /private sector organization or become an entrepreneur.
PEO3: To opt for higher studies for better employment and other advanced opportunity.
PEO4: To be able to demonstrate concern for society and environment.

PO 1:Basic and Discipline specific knowledge: Apply knowledge of basic mathematics, science and engineering fundamentals and engineering specialization to solve the engineering problems.                                                      

PO2: Problem analysis: Identify and analyze well-defined engineering problems using codified standard methods.

PO3:Design/ development of solutions: Design solutions for well-defined technical problems and assist  with the design of systems components or processes to meet specified needs.

PO4:Engineering Tools, Experimentation and Testing: Apply modern engineering tools and appropriate technique to conduct standard tests and measurements.

PO5:Engineering practices for society, sustainability and environment: Apply appropriate  technology in context of society, sustainability, environment and ethical practices.

PO6:Project Management: Use engineering management principles individually, as a team member or a leader to manage projects and effectively communicate about well-defined engineering activities

PO7:Life-long learning: Ability to analyze individual needs and engage in updating in the context of  technological changes.

PSO-1 :  Apply principles of engineering and laboratory skill for testing,operation & maintenance of electrical machines and power system.

PSO-2: Analysis  and simulation of electrical and electronics network for automation and control of electrical power system.

PSO-3: Work professionally in electrical goods and equipment manufacturing, renewable energy sector & electric vehicle.
