At present the country is facing shortage of skilled man power in the field of Engineering & Technology due to the phenomenal growth of contemporary technology and hi-tech applications during the recent years. A concerted effort is undertaken at the national level for the targeted result of generating 500 million technicians by 2020 by up-gradation & opening of new/existing Polytechnics across the country with an objective to develop world class multi skill work force. In pursuance of the policy initiative of the MHRD ,Govt. of India for promotion of "Technical Education" in unreserved districts of Odisha state under the scheme, “submission on Polytechnics” a new Govt polytechnic has been established at Bhadrak.
